Be smart, set the current inventory to O, en change open all bags to I.
Your bags are your inventory and the "inventory" is actually an equipment window, I have no idea way the keymap is the way it is, makes no sense at all.

But, we could say that for every new implementation. Like hero hotkeys. I don't need that, but, it's a nice feature for those that do. Mini Pets in towns/outposts another un-needed implementation for a lot of people, but, Anet did it anyway. Remember this is a "suggestion" forum. It is merely to suggest. It's not something I would expect them to put at the top of the list, with GW2 on their minds I doubt many new things will be added to GW1 anyways. But, since this IS a suggestion forum I decided to suggest something "I" want. Just like the rest of you suggest things "you" want.

There really are no bad "suggestions", just bad forum members who don't like change or think their way is the best way.

No kidding. That's why I said that I'm not usually critical of ideas like these. Any little thing helps. I'm just against this because I don't see it being implemented in any way that wouldn't make it worse than it already is. An improvement is an improvement no matter how you spin it. A change can be for the worse.

I maped the F9 to the 'O' letter.

It takes no time to use it, since it do not have to load the paperdoll.

I like to see what's in all my "bags" when I go to the merchant. Sometimes I acquire enough junk to overflow my backpack and spill into my belt pouch or even the first bag.

what is so hard about opening inventory or storage? the word lazy just doesnt do this justice. OMG!!! So it takes an extra second to open invetory, get over it.

First of all, when you merchent stuff you dont use your bag, you select what to sell through the merchant window. You dont need you bag open at all.

But lets say you do for some reason! I have the solution! When you open guild wars, open your inventory, drag it to a corner, and never close it all day!

This is when a game options screen becomes 300 tabs long, and have things like "auto open bags only after XXX" (default 6:00PM) and "auto jerk you every X hours" (default 1). spoiled I tell you...

Not even one second, this is seriously in the range of 1/2 a second, and, as a bonus, you can pre-inventory by pressing I while running to the NPC, if you're smart enough.

I always considered myself lazy, but this just takes it to an extreme.
